Been quiet around here….

Sorry I have'nt been posting lately. I have been in a creative funk and I am having a hard time using the Wordpress stuff.  Ugh! I'll be back before long,  but not too often, as I found an extra job to take for the Christmas rush! Just November and December :-) but it will sure help!

Praying for Direction in our Election

It is not whether we are for Republican, Democrat or Independent, it is what Gods will be done and we need to pray for the guidance to vote in a way that HE leads us to. So each day in some quiet prayer for the right decisions, would be so helpful!

Rockin’ Grocery Savings!!

A got a whale of a deal at the grocery store today!

We are limited by what we can do here in the St. Louis area, because the grocery stores don’t allow doubling coupons over .35, we never have triple coupons and the stores don’t take the computer printed coupons either!!

But I drove the deals today! I SPENT 211.11. I SAVED  a whopping $44.70!! Woo hoo! I had $15.00 in savings from the Entertainment book. Another $10 was from an in store special of “spend 50, get 10 off! The rest were in regular cents off coupons from my Sunday circulars.

Some of the items I purchased to donate to my daughters girl scout troop, but the rest is for lunches next week and some WW meals.

I am pretty stoked! J

We have another driver in the family!

DeeDee passed her drivers test last Tuesday, so we have another official driver in the family!official driver in the family!

DeeDee and Lou Hoo are off to friends houses! We haven’t seen much of DeeDee since she got her license! I don’t have to driver her around any more! J I have been praying a lot, but I have faith in her driving and as God as her protector! See grandmas old car came in handy!

Lou Hoo turned 14 today and our birthday “season” is officially OVER! Halleluiah! Onto Christmas now! I need to start selling some stuff on eBay to help offset the holiday!

Waiting for Ike….

Hurricane Ike is supposed to pay us a visit within the next few hours. We are supposed to get lots of flooding. I just feel horrible for all the poor folks in Texas and Louisiana!! I will be praying for them.

Sorry I have'nt been blogging to much. I did add color to the front of our house, will see if I can take a picture if Ike is'nt too bad. I try to wait to put out all the fall deco until our "birthday season" is over on October 5th.

I did make the balance transfer from the Amex to the Citicard. Still trying to figure out how to pay down this last work on the van.

I finally have a DAY OFF tomorrow!! I have SOOO much to catch up on, I am already exhausted!

I have a new job description!

No, I did not get a new job! But I AM adding professional juggler to my job description!! I am still working on juggling the balance of the AmEx over to the Citi. But I have to wait because they have not posted my payment yet. Ugh. I noticed the electronic payments from my bank have been moving very slowly, so I mailed my payment this month. Lo and behold, they have'nt received it yet. I am going back to electronic. This is crazy! I am also juggling laundry, the kids schedule, a job, a doctors appointment, a Girl Scout function, dinner, etc...All on Thursday! :-) Pray for me!

Help me… I’m drowning in interest!!!

We have made relatively NO forward progress on our debt. Largely this is due to interest. The other day I was checking our American Express account and noticed that our payment was LESS than the interest charged for the month. What the?? Guess what, our interest rate has been changed from 14.99 to 24.99%! That will make you pee your drawers! Turns out there is no longer a "grace" period on our account. Our payment must arrive by the due date, or it is considered late. Now, we have had this card for over 5 years, and this has never been an issue. I have noticed too, that the "electronic" payment that goes out from our bank is taking longer to reach the credit card companies. Anyway, I called American Express to see if we could get this interest rate lowered and of course their answer was NO. So now I have to see if I can juggle part of this to another account with a lower interest rate and pray THEY don't decide that the moon is aligned with Venus and therefore they must raise our rate too. Oh Lord, help us!! I have NEVER had an interest rate this high in my life!

Happy 50th Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Yesterday was my parents 50th anniversary! What a blessing and an inspiration they are! We had a party at the country club and then went to church as a family!

I need color!!

I was observing the front of my house today and noticed the lack of color. All of my pretty summer flowers are dying away! I think it is time to dig them up and make it fresh for next year!

 So now it is time to dig up the fake flowers! I would LOVE to go out and buy me some pretty mums, but with money being so tight, spending on flowers is out of the question! So I will go digging in the basement for those vibrant yellow and oranges! The dollar store had some lovely blooms last year and I took full advantage of them! Ahhh, I love the pretty color of fall!
